In 2017, I worked at a large school in North Philadelphia where I cared about everyone I served with from the custodial and kitchen staff to teachers and administrators. I wanted to get each person something for Christmas, but it was last minute and I became overwhelmed by how much that would cost. I looked around at what I had. The thought came that I should make the body butter that use for myself; it would be economical and a perfect gift to share. I whipped and packaged a huge batch and passed them out the next day.
As people used their gift, I began to get requests with offers to pay and I said “no” to them and God. One teacher said it worked so great on her daughter's eczema she did not want to continue using what the doctor prescribed. A male colleague saw me in the grocery store and told his wife, "this is the lady who made the cream you loved". The lunch lady emailed me the following year to say she missed me and was still rationing out her butter. Sometimes, I chuckle and am amazed at the many things and combinations God has given me to do with oil and I am reminded of the widow woman who only had a small jar of it. As I evolve, I have realized that EVERYTHING I gave God a “no” to turned out to be HIS BEST for me!
